On arrival you will be greeted with tea, coffee and biscuits and the domestic arrangements will be explained for the half day course. The course features PowerPoint slides and videos on the topic of water hygiene and the protection of the public drinking water. Attendees will be encouraged to offer their experiences in the industry and other industries to make the course participative and interactive. The course is divided into two sections with a 15 minute break for refreshments. At the end of the course attendees will take a 25 question multiple choice test in which 22 questions have to answered correctly. On successful completion of the course you will receive a temporary ‘cover note’ that shows that you have attended and passed the course. This ‘cover note’ will enable you to satisfy water companies such a Thames Water, Southern Water, Affinity Water and others that you have met the hygiene requirements for working with drinking water and gain access to their sites for work.

The course papers are sent to Energy and Utility Skills for processing, which takes 28 days and when they received back at Achieve Safety they are checked and then sent to the organisation or individual that requested the course. The card is normally received by candidates about five weeks after the course.
