This course is ideal for contractors who would need to work with water utility companies such as Thames Water, Affinity Water, Southern Water and Anglian Water. It is a course in which people who are working on drinking water installations are made aware of the need to protect the water from chemical or microbiological contamination. The National Water Hygiene Card is also known as ‘the blue card for water’. More frequently these days you will be refused access to site if you do not have the card.

National Water Hygiene Training Course just north of London near to the M25 motorway. Ideal for working with Thames Water, Southern Water, Anglian Water, Cambridge Water, Essex and Suffolk Water, and Affinity Water.
You should bring to the course a blue or black biro and proof of identity such as a driving licence or passport, a CSCS card or CCNSG card or similar will also be accepted. Photographs will be taken using a smartphone so there is no need to bring any photographs.
On arrival you will be greeted with tea, coffee and biscuits and the domestic arrangements will be explained for the half day course. The course features PowerPoint slides and videos on the topic of water hygiene and the protection of the public drinking water. Attendees will be encouraged to offer their experiences in the industry and other industries to make the course participative and interactive. The course is divided into two sections with a 15 minute break for refreshments. At the end of the course attendees will take a 25 question multiple choice test in which 22 questions have to answered correctly. On successful completion of the course you will receive a temporary ‘cover note’ that shows that you have attended and passed the course. This ‘cover note’ will enable you to satisfy water companies such a Thames Water, Southern Water, Affinity Water and others that you have met the hygiene requirements for working with drinking water and gain access to their sites for work.
The course documentation is processed following the course and Energy and Utility Skills print the National Water Hygiene Cards. They are then sent to†Achieve Safety Ltd where they are checked and then sent to the organisation or individual that requested the course. The card is normally received by candidates about four weeks after the course.
